We were hopeful that we could spend a lovely evening together, raising a glass for the kids, in support of Operation School Bell. However, the safety of our community has been weighing heavily on our minds as a new wave of COVID-19 infections takes hold and hospitalization rates continue to rise in Deschutes County. In order to help protect the health of our neighbors, supporters and members, the Assistance League of Bend Board has made the difficult decision to cancel our Raise a Glass event as planned for September 23, 2021. Assistance League of Bend volunteers have been transforming the lives of children and adults in Deschutes County since 1993. Our signature program, Operation School Bell , provides new clothing to children living in poverty. Students who have new clothes feel more confident, have better school attendance, are less likely to be bullied and are more likely to complete their education.
